FLASH CRASH

i'm using flash mx 2004 i recently inported a bitmap into my library for a
project i'm developing i tried to change the properties of the bitmap using 
the
propertiesinspector in the library and flash crashed it generated a windows
erroe report then shut down .I restarted flash then just tried to move the
image directly to the stage and the bitmap would not load  when i went again
 to
the library property inspector it crashed again  has anyone run into this
problem if so what was your solution any and all help would be appreciated

try reinstall flash mx 2004

Check the size of the image. I had flash crashing with very large images.
The only solution was importing individual slices.

However... Never just copy a bmp from your image app and paste it onto
screen. I found that you cannot do normal things anymore (for example break
apart!)

Seems my problem was caused by very large width size of the image...
