Is there any way to preview brush set without loading it into photoshop

I guess it depends on where you download them eheh!

so most of those site show you a little "montage".. 

beside that if you don't have a jpg that shows you what type of brush it is.
. you can't see it unless you install it..

Do you realize this thread was started in 1997. In internet years,

I should probably start a new thread, but I sort of am a lover of antiques.
I'm just starting to move to PS from PSP, a brush management looks to be a
science all in itself. With PSP, I was able to create a directory and just
drop brushes into and they became available. With PS, it appears I need to
work in brush sets. My question is, are their best practices to
managing/building brush sets? It seems pretty easy to lose track of brushes
in this type of configuration. One of the nice things with PSP is that as I
was creating, I would scan the brushes, looking for one that "felt" right,
as opposed to memorizing all of them and pulling up an explicit brush.

Thoughts, or pointers to any best practices articles would be appreciated.
