After opening a gif file i want to change the color of a certain section. I
select a color blue. But when i draw something on the image, it is done in
gray color? When selecting another color, its also not the color what i want
when i use that for drawing. I think its the color setting of the gif file,
but where do i have to adjust this?
thx, Jack.

You have to convert your GIF from index mode to RGB mode.

In PS, Click Image, Mode. From there you should see index selected.
Click RGB instead. Make your painting changes. Go back to Image, Mode
and reset your GIF as index. Once done, click CMND or CTRL S to save
your GIF.

Correct.

A .gif image is "indexed color." That means, all .gif images contain only a
small amount of colors; no more than 256 colors, and possibly fewer.

You can not use any color that is not already in the GIF. In order to use a
color not already in the GIF, you must first convert the GIF from indexed co
lor
to RGB color.
