We could use some honest advice on the quality of our pictures. Is it
the photography? Or, can the lighting and posing be made better.

We are always looking to improve. Here's one of the images. For a larger
pic go to

Thanks in advance.

I'm being serious here.

The exposure of the female is fine. However, it would be nice if the sky
wasn't blown out. If you are going to go to the trouble to do location shots
then the location is important as well and shouldn't be blown out.

The lighting is flat and the composition uninteresting.

I would recommend picking up a book on lighting for outdoor and location
photography; it's way beyond the scope of one UseNet message. :)

Apart from the dull and flat lighting, couldn't she have tried to look
slightly interested? Frankly she looks disgusted by the whole thing.

hire this guy:
http://www.shootfashion.com
http://www.shootfashion.tripod.com

catalog from $1500.00 per day
plus expenses (model, makeup, assistant, location fees, insurance and
permits, lunch)

I disagree about the background comment because when you are shooting
clothes, in this case the bathing suit, it is the most important thing in
the picture. That said though the colors and lighting should be nicer. It
would help if the model looked even vaguely happy or sexy or something but
squinted up, and the lack of makeup on mottled skin, no good!! get a makeup
artist. No strings should be showing from the front, swimwear looks better
and more saleable dry not wet. The posing I could write a book, try a pro
model who knows the swimsuit poses not a stripper.
Use at least 85 or longer lens for fashion and portraits.
Take pictures at nicer time of day or use a reflector and or scrims.

Why are your models always in the shade?

They might want to study posing so that they can look like models.

One of them should pay as much attention to her moustache as her bikini
line.

Dark roots... is that a cultural thing?

Overall, I'd say a C minus.

Oh, where to start? The others have mentioned the lighting issues and the
fact that the model is posed looking like she needs a dose of Ex-Lax-- um,
perhaps models who had a better plastic surgeon?

Here's your main problem. You have no idea who your customer is.
Get a clue. Men don't ordinarily buy women's swimwear, women do.
Those photos are offputting to most women in so many ways it isn't funny.

--A woman would know that those are quite possibly some of the
least-realistic
looking implants ever-- They should be on that "plastic surgery gone wrong"
site. Some men might appreciate that canteloupes glued to the chest look,
but
any woman who has normal sized or shaped breasts and is looking to
buy a awimsuit that might actually fit and look attractive on HER
is going to pass you by without stopping.

--Get their roots done, at least.

--Three of the 4 girls look like strippers. Would your sister, wife,
whatever
take fashion advice from a stripper? And none of them look like they're
having
a very good time. Yeah, I want to take clothing suggestions from a depressed
pole dancer.

--The girl in 6_03_09 at least is smiling and not skanky-looking, but what
is up
with the locations? I don't know where you are, but the support wires for
the
palm trees and the trash cans have got to go.

Get rid of the hooker shoes, too!
There are plenty of cute BEACHY (not bitchy) sandals that would be more
appropriate.

These pictures are a trainwreck. They are not selling swimwear. If you are,
you need a better photographer. Try hiring a female photographer who can
put the models at ease and sees swimwear and models with a female
sensibility.
If you're selling porn to adolescent boys, they're probably OK. Adolescent
boys won't notice anything other than the T&A anyway.

Take a look at these photos
http://tinyurl.com/regbd

Far fewer armpits, no beachballs in pasties, a few accessories, some makeup,
some
attention paid to hair, the hands look graceful, not grabbing, no boobs
falling out of
the bottom of the cups, the look is sexy, not slutty.

Yah, whoever does the work for Victoria's Secret they need to clone. Awesome
work, they sell the clothes and not the prostitutes wearing them. Not that
they look like prostitutes, but the original posters does. Remember you are
selling a product not the snatch, you don't want to offend your customers.

Offer the model some stomach acid tablets before the shoot. She's
obviously in pain.
