Hi Guys,
I've just redesigned my site and I would apreciate your thoughts.

Cheers!

I find the design a bit dull. All those unexciting shades of brown :s

...

But, the markup under it all is nice and clean :)

On URL http://www.paulwatt.info/portfolio.htm
<div class="rightimgs">
<p><img src="images/earth.jpg" alt="earth" />
<br/>
<img src="images/people.jpg" alt="people" /></p>
<p><img src="images/keyboard.jpg" alt="keyboard" width="150"
height="200" /><br/>
</p>
</div>

This reads as "earth people keyboard" to people on screenreaders. How is
that helpful alternate text to those images?

All-in-all, it betrays a lack of creativity, but that's kind of me playing
the pot to your kettle. I recommend doing as I've begun to do - hire a
professional graphic artist.

if you would be interested in a non professional visitor's POV,

I thought it neat and crisp, and to the point.

You might select a color scheme with more contrast, or brighter
colors, but that may alienate as many visitors as it may impresses.

One thing I would have liked, and did look for, as a visitor, was
a link or two to some samples of your work.

the best part, though, is that it is neat, crisp and to the
point, and no distractions to belie your claim.

Paul,

I buy web design services for my clients. I do not find your design very
interesting or appealing, but that's a subjective issue.
I'd expect to see more examples in your portfolio, would want to know your
technical skills (Perl, PHP, Javascript, ability to create or implement
shopping carts, etc.)
You are selling your services, so don't be shy about giving prospective
customers an idea of your rates, even in ranges -- "An entry-level website
with five pages and a 'contact us' form can be created for as little as XX."
Finally, give your visitors/prospects some background information on
yourself -- are your a software engineer with decades of experience, or a
teenager with a copy of FrontPage?

Alex

Simple and elegant. Very pleasing. I am not crazy about the
background color (salmon is it?) but that's an issue of personal
taste.

BTW, further to my initial comment, "info" domains are problems. Many
mail servers (including ours) reject info and biz TLDs. One further
note is; Have you made sure that the contact script is safe?
Personally, I prefer http://jimsun.linxnet.com/SCForm.html
Furthermore, the objective of the form is to (usually) eliminate
displaying your email address which is going to attract a ton of spam.

Paul, the design is pretty clean. I noticed that you are using HTML
fonts for the title and "home, portfolio and contact" and they look
rough. Make sure to illustrate some graphics to replace it.

You could also make the site a little higher, veritcally taking up some
more space.

On my site, I made sure that the navigation end of the site is compiled
of clean, fast loading GIF images.

My site, website hosting: www.phirefast.com

odd - I use clean, fast loading text.

yes, yes - calm down. you're among friends here - no need to go on about
it.

btw: you have cookie issues and links to a non-existant forum.

yes, nice clean, economical markup. but isn't the universal background of
business sales white? and is it's hallmark other color blue?

we're different. we're orange. it makes more sense in Arizona.
