Is there anyway I can modify the template for the following page:
www.clinicians.org so that it will print out properly on 8.5 x 11?

Sure, you can use a CSS stylesheet and set the media type to 'print'.
Then, you can define in that new style sheet the page dimensions.

I believe you would need to create a 2nd one, but maybe someone will
correct me on this.  I've created one just for print specific tasks.

you can do one of two options......

like steve said you can create and alternate style sheet just for print or y
ou
can create a "print ready" version of the page you are talking about.....whi
ch
is a completly new html page and have a link somewhere on the page saying
"click here for printable version"...

the first one is the more professional way to do it as the user doesnt have 
to
click anywere to get a printable version when they click print the style she
ets
automatically do the work and switch for them....
