ummm, still not sure i understand - so you selected multiple objects and the
n grouped them (Ctrl +
G). Then selected something else threby deselcting the group you made. Then 
you went back to the
group of objects and could still select them as if the group was broken apar
t but you didnt actually
break the group apart?
I really have no clue - never heard of that issue before and probably is som
e simple error you made
but pretty hard to tell what you did exactly.
