This is most likely from one of the color enhancing modes in the
printer. They often do that sort of thing. Look for a printer-specific
panel in the print dialog and try to turn it off.

I'm not sure what you mean by not wanting the user to go into the
printer settings, but everything is now part of the print dialog.
