PSP X and ThumbsPlus

I use ThumbsPlus (v. 7) in conjunction with PSP, and have for several
years. Recently, each time I invoke PSP X from ThumbsPlus, it opens a
new instance of PSP, something it never did before. I suspect the
10.02 patch. Is there any setting I can change in PSP X to correct
this behaviour? I've contacted ThumbsPlus about it, but have had no
response.

Many thanks!

SueG

Your suspicion is correct. All external programs that invoke PSP 10
do this since v 10.02 was installed. There is no work-around known.

Because Corel did not take the trouble to make 10.02 un-installable,
the only cure right now is to uninstall 10.01, 10.00, and re-install
10.00 and 10.01.

Alternatively, you can use drag&drop to make PSP open files once it is
running.

You are right, that should work for Thumbs Plus. I did not think
past the trouble some scanner users have, getting a new instance of
PSP after every scan.

on the front

Thank you. Much appreciated.

I must admit I never thought of this. Thank you.

You're welcome.

Personally, I use the combination ThumbsPlus/PSP like this all the time. I
have T+ one monitor and PSP one the other. It also avoids me having to use
the PSP browser.

Another neat trick: if you have PSP minimized, drag a file onto the PSP box
in the task bar. If you hold it there for a short moment, PSP will maximize
and you can drop the file into the application. This is especially useful
having to use only one monitor.

This will work with most (all?) files and applications.

I'll definitely try this. Thank you, Frank.
