Ok here is my dilemma. Right now I have my entire site done with one templa
te.
However, now I decided to make a new template and I need to know how to
convert every page with the old template to the new template without doing t
hem
individually because there are about 50-75 files and I really don't feel lik
e
doing them individually.
one way I do it is to rename the old template don't up date file when ask,
then name the new template the same as the old one make a change to it then
save it update your pages with the new template then up load all your page's
that have changed to the new template.

This will only work well when the old template and the new one have the same
number of editable regions with the same names.
If that's not the case, then you can do this -
1. Make both templates have the same number of editable regions with the
same names.
2. Follow Dave's suggestion to bring the pages into the same (new) template
environment.
3. Edit the new template to add new editable regions,.
Please make a backup of the site before doing anything, though.

Actually they do have the same editable regions with the same names. It was
basically just a graphical update, but I was hoping there was a way in
Dreamweaver to just update all files using x template to y template with jus
t a
click. I guess by the sounds of the answers I got, this seems more like a
feature request to Adobe rather than trying to find an answer to what I need
.
Thanks anyways.
You are basically doing it (although with several clicks) by a) renaming the
originaly and refusing the update, and then b) renaming the new to the old
name and forcing an update.
I would not like it as a feature request - too dangerous.
