Mist -

In Windows XP ----

While viewing the desktop, press the F1 key. In the search box, type
"restore" or "last known good". (Without the quotes) There's a lot to read
there.

You may want to use microsoft.public.windowsxp.newusers and/or
microsoft.public.windowsme.new-user

Try microsoft.public.windwsxp.help_and_support
This is a better NG for this question.

What do you use to back it up?

We use DriveImage 7.0 that save the entire disk image to a secondary HD on a
different box. Take about 30 mins to save 15gb.

It makes restoration a snap and provides a easy method to swap out drives to
increase capacity.

Try double clicking the time in the bottom right of the screen. This opens
up a window where you can choose the time and date. Good luck.

Hmm, is that what was meant? When I think of restore it means to make it
look like it did at that point in time.

You're assuming they do a backup. Betcha 50¢US they don't use any back-up
methods.
