putting *part* of an editable region back into template markup

Don't know if that title makes sense, but here's what I want to do:

In my main editable region, I have a spot on the bottom that I want to
update across every page (it will always be the same). Thus, I would like
that portion to be a non-editable region. Any way I can accomplish this
without removing my present editable region and reinstating it with a
smaller area? (I'm frankly terrified of messing around with things like
that!)

Thanks!
tim

But honestly, there's no problem with just relocating the bottom of the
editable region markup.

Why not make it a Library item or a server-side include?

Just cut and paste the "End Editable Region" code you mean?

Hm. Everywhere I put it, the code is giving me exclamation marks and messing
my formatting....

Obviously, there are limits to where you can end an editable region. I am
assuming that the "end" has to match the "begin" - is that my problem? I
have the editable region beginning in a "master table," so if I don't have
the end point at the end of the table, it will mess things up?

It must be properly nested, of course. Show me your code....

Thanks, Murray. It was a relatively small site, so I just did it via library
item. Still nervous with messing around with the template code that
automatically gets generated.

Thankfully, I didn't have this problem on my other sites - the part I wanted
to change wasn't in an editable region.
