Hi,

To the point: How does one increase the height of a text box without
increasing the height of the text itself?

Example: I create a text box and write text but if it's too long, part
of the text falls below the box and can't be seen. Is there a way to
make the text box bigger?
Usually I end up redoing everything with a bigger text box.

Thanks

Use the selection tool (the arrow) to select the box. Drag the center
point on the bottom to the desired size. Just tried it (I am not in for
text in Illy, but well sometimes you need it huh).

I made a text frame/box. Typed in too much and did what I just
described. My missing text appeared in the same font size. Is to be
expected in Illustrator, it cares more about the box:)

OOPS! Replied to the wrong post.

When you have the text tool selected you need to first click and drag a
box and then enter your text and the above method will work. If you just
click on your work area and start typing it will not. The online help
has some great suggestions on how to use type...there are many ways.

Don

aaaaah that's much better.

Use the Selection Tool (v) with the Show Bounding Box option selected from
the View menu.
