I was asked by a friend to post their website for critique, I have given
them
my opinion but I may be a little bit biased, so could you all please give
this
site a thorough critique

1) All navigation disappears when image loading is turned off, because all the links are pictures of text without alt attributes. 2) The navigation menu on the left completely duplicates the one on the top. 3) Fixed-width text. 4) The animated bubbles on the left side are distracting.

Nice pics - seems like a smart business. Why so much wasted space in the browser? Conversly, there's a horizontal scroll-bar at 764px. The issues with verdana have been well documented, as has the use of FONT in HTML Images which convey information need relevant ALT text. Visual candy needs ALT="" which makes it clear that there is no information missing. The pages need a doctype and valid markup to avoid in-browser error correction. There is a shed-load of surplus markup and script getting in the way of the content. -- William Tasso - http://WilliamTasso.com

Bubbles = Annoying The entire top banner/logo doesn't work at all for me. It's jumbled looking, the pictures don't equal others on the site, and the image is one of inelegance. And what is that behind the name of the company? Towels and sunscreen? No. You don't need that junk. Clean up the banner and make that horizontal picture in the text area FLUSH WITH THE LEFT EDGE OF THE TEXT. I like the boat on the left bottom, but the overall design looks kind of "thrown together," and not well thought out. I do like the menus and the boat on the left bottom. And the panoramic tour is good, although the link to it should be very prominent and should just say "Take a tour now." -- Bonnie Granat http://www.granatedit.com

I would rethink the top banner - pretty disjointed and the last photo on the right looks to be over compressed a bit. I like to top nav links, but the side links seem redundant. Possibly move these to the bottom of the page. No Alt Tags - Lose the bubbles or make then relate to something that would generate them. Why would bubbles be coming from the boat? The Virtual tour was pretty neat ! - and I like the boat down on the bottom left. HTH-- Sky
