I am new to the Adobe CS suite, and use Mac osX. I've looked for
templates with which to make a 'plate' of business cards to print on a
modest home printer. All I have found are templates for MS word, which I
don't have. '
Have also searched in InDesign forum, with equal nil results. Any ideas?

This link will help you, this is part of the Adobe site where you will
find different templates, plugins, actions, etc., for all the different
software. You will have to register for an Adobe ID which it will ask
you for when you click on to download something.

Did you try "New from Template..." in the Files menu? There are many
business card templates included.

Paul, yes, I tried that but the ones I saw assisted only in designing a
single card- no obvious way to then repeat it and line it up to a form
for home printing.

John, what bizcard paper are you planning to use? Often they include templat
es
in the package that you can scan in and place as a template in Illy. Make s
ure
your new document is set up the same size as the template sheet usually
81/2x11. You design your card and place a copy of it within each section
bounded by the lines/grid of the paper maker's template, usually ten boxes.
If none are included in the package you might try their website url for
downloading the template. Then just place as template in Illy and do the sam
e
as above.
