Like if I want to make it look like text is shooting from a point on an
image? Do i have to put some tiny text (for the point of origin) and then
large text and a series of "point to point" lines connecting them?

(depth perception maybe the wrong term, pls tell me the correct way to state
this :O)

Sort of. ....... it would be as if the you had a point on an image where you
had an explosion...then a trail going to the text which would be somewhere
else on the picture. I remember back in the day in art class we drew squares
and then drew lines from it coming together to a point.

Look at the radial blur filter in PSP 9. In PSP 8 do a
polar to rectangular conversion, motion blur and then a
rectangular to polar conversion.

I think you're talking about vanishing point text. Try this site for some
ideas:

What he needs is a 3D application. The blurred text stuff is grotesque!
