Corel Wins Top Software Honors at RetailVision 'R' 2004: Top 100
Retailers Recognize Company with Coveted 'Best Of RetailVision' 'TM'
Award for New Fall Releases

RetailVision(R) Fall 2004

OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 2004--Corel today announced that it
has won the coveted "Best of RetailVision Awards"(TM) for Best
Software at RetailVision(R) Fall 2004, the premiere event for
technology retailers and vendors focused on the consumer channel. The
award was presented at a special ceremony held in San Diego,
California on September 9, 2004.

Selected by decision makers from the Top 100-level retailers across
North America, the "Best of RetailVision Awards" honor vendors who
consistently demonstrate both innovation and leadership in the retail
marketplace.

Corel was recognized for both of its upcoming fall releases: Corel(R)
Painter(TM) IX, the world's most powerful Natural-Media(R) painting
and illustration software, and a new, yet-to-be-announced version of
WordPerfect(R) designed specifically for home users.

"Winning the software category at RetailVision represents a
significant endorsement of our new fall releases," said Brett Denly,
executive vice president of worldwide marketing for Corel. "The 'Best
of RetailVision Awards' are a proven springboard to increased brand
awareness and product credibility in the channel. We're extremely
proud that buyers from the top retailers and e-commerce sites across
North America have recognized Corel as the best in our field."

"These awards represent an extraordinary benchmark for technology
vendors because they are voted on by the top retailers in North
America," said Pete Prentice, senior director for RetailVision. "For
both winners and nominees, the awards carry the prestige and the
confirmation that a vendor's products and strategies are succeeding in
the consumer channel."

For over a decade, RetailVision has been the recognized leader in
bringing together established and emerging technology vendors with Top
100-level retailers. These retailers represent the entire
consumer-buying channel for technology products, from computer and
office supply superstores, to direct marketing companies, consumer
electronics stores, buying groups, mass merchants, click-and-mortar,
and online retailers.

Is this like the American Heart Assoc. awarding a Heart Healthy symbol if
you pay enough to them?

Actually, I got the very old basic version of Painter with my Graphire and
it's a lot of fun to play with.
