Conversion from MS Word (extra space)

It appears that when copying from Microsoft Word, Dreamweaver MX 2004 SOMETI
MES
adds an extra space before the closing tag ("</p", etc.). (I'm referring to
the
latest updated version). I frequently have this problem, and have to go in a
nd
use search and replace to eliminate the extra space. However, I just tried a
test of copying some text from Microsoft Word and pasting it in the display
window, and it didn't had any extra space. But I know I usually have this
problem when using this updated version.

So now I'm confused. Does anyone know under what circumstances Dreamweaver
adds the extra space before the closing tags? Thanks for your help.

Dreamweaver isn't doing it, it's Word that adds the extra space.

Don't use find and replace to repair this problem, though. That's what
Commands > Apply Source Formatting is for.

Me, too. I nearly always get that the affect the OP is describing. It's
annoying as heck.
