I am editing a site that has several downloadable pdfs. I have uploaded all
the pdfs and checked them for errors with success. The problem is: when I
click the link to download them on the site, my computer either freezes or t
he
pdf is incomplete (missing images or partial images).
What have I done wrong? And how can I make it so the pdf downloads as a fil
e
instead of opening in a window?
Thanks!

Probably nothing. Sounds like they are corrupt PDFs.

Tell the end user to right-click the file and choose 'save target as...'
Or, ZIP them up, but that's a PITA for the end user.
Or, stream the files to the the user using ASP or some other back end
scripting language. This is a tad more complicated.

they were fine when I opened them offline.
Well, give us a link to the site so we can take a look.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Under "Products & Services" there
are 15 separate categories. Each category has one or two 2-4 page pdf files
.
Thanks!
Works for me, Safari 1.0.2 Mac. They seem to be complete, however I have
my browser configured to open pdf files in AA.

Someone else told me the same thing, but no one here can get a full file. C
an you try section 15 for me? I can only get the first of four pages to loa
d, then the browser freezes.
Thanks!
