Hello,

I've just recently taken over as webmaster for a magazine
called Barhopper, www.barhoppermagazine.com My question is this, The
webmaster that they had before removed all of the user information.
This information we are hoping we can get back from the Server company
we are using. The site was created with Frontpage 2002
I'm a photographer by trade and creating a basic page is easy
for me, www.myshutter.com
In the Barhopper site. You'll go to the paid area .
allacess.html .. If the information we have cannot be restored, How
can I, add username & password entry to this page?

Thank You..

BlackBayou

My sympathies.

You are looking for pages visited and such? This is possible if the files
were left in the user directory provided by the server company. If the
former webmaster was nasty you might really have nothing. Try looking in
the directories accessible to you by using some kind of FTP browser.

You could find all sorts of interesting stuff this way. :)

"Created" is a strong word. "Masticated by some cow and spewed onto the
Internet" is more accurate. Again, my deepest sympathy for being shouldered
with the responsibility. At least you can start fresh.

This can be done by a real programmer if every user has a unique password.
It is not something that you will pick up in a weekend.

If you simply want to protect a whole directory, your server company can
help you with that. That task is both quick and easy!

Good luck - and think seriously about hiring someone. You could have a
website as nice as the magazine, or totally sad like the website is now.

As far as I know, there is only one end of a cow that's capable of
mastication.

I think it's the spewing that was in question.
