Scanner problem." Dusb4ar" error.

I have a Memorex 6142u USB scanner installed on Windows XP professional.
The installation goes fine and windows detects and installs it without any
errors. But when I try to use the software (MGI photosuite 3) I get the
following error:

"Dusb4ar
Cannot Operate
1.Please check whether the scanner connects to the computer.
2.Make sure that the scanner connects to the power, and the LED is on.
3.Note that you cannot connect the scanner to the bus power device."

I have reinstalled the drivers and checked all the cable connections. I
still get the same error."

Anyone ever ran into this problem before?

You may have to reinstall Wnaspi32.dll. If you had any beta drivers, remove
those first before re-installing the new drivers.

Is the scanner mechanical lock released?

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY ARTEC 48U SCANNER.
I HAVE JUST CONNECTED THE SCANNER TO MY OLD COMPUTER AND GET THE SAME ERROR,
MY CONCLUSIONS ARE IT IS THE SCANNER.
SORRY FOR THE BAD NEWS.

Scanner problem "Dusb4ar" error revisted

I too have been having this problem with my Artec e+ 48U scanner. Only I've discovered it's not the scanner (or its software) per se that's causing the problem.

This scanner used to work just fine on my current (P4 1800) computer. Then one day I wanted to use it, and it wouldn't work any more. I speculated then that the scanner had simply succumbed somehow from neglect. But then I inherited an old computer (a PIII 600), into which I temporarily loaded with my 2002 edition of Windows XP Pro (though not my Service Pack 2 disc and without any online updates). Into this system I then plugged in my Artec e+ 48U scanner and loaded the driver for it. Not expecting it to likely work, I was amazed to witness the scanner working just fine again. So I unplugged the scanner and set it up on my current computer. But it again failed to work. This indicated that something in my current computer had changed at some point, causing the scanner to appear to malfunction.

Having long ago since simply bought another scanner, I haven't been motivated to do the detective work necessary to find out exactly what it is that had changed on my computer to cause the Artec scanner not to work with it anymore. But since my computer itself appears otherwise free of any hardware problems, plus the fact that my scanner is no longer supported by the manufacturer, Ultima Electronics (who btw has withdrawn the Artec moniker and apparently closed their Artec website), it is quite possible the cause lies embedded within one or more of the Windows XP updates (e.g. Service Pack 2, etc...etc...).

If anyone here has any further insight or interesting experience to offer related to this topic, I am all ears.

Thanks,
Ken

My friend also had the same problem with his Epson scanner. As a techy himself he first tried to resolve it but it lead to further complication as the problem was quite serious. The scanner completely went out of order. I finally suggested him to visit http://www.supportonclick.com. The staffs over there previously helped me to organize my canon scanner properly. I found them quite expert and helpful to solve a number of tricky issues. They solved my friend's problem immediately after he got in touch with them. As you are facing the same problem I think you should also seek their help. Hopefully they might be able to help you out of this problem. http://www.supportonclick.com
