hi, guys

I'm currently working on A+ It technician 220-602 exam. Unfortunately, I failed first my attempt by 45 points. this is one of the questions on the test. first i choose a ROM <I pressume it was the right answer>, but when lately when i came back to re-check my answers, I changed it to EPROM. I'm planning to re-take it again in the future.

where do programmable BIOS <basic input/outpur system> as firmware, comes into ROM or EEPROM, EPROM. Thanks in advance for you help

Technically speaking all three would be correct. The most correct for a current computing device would be an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory). I hope that this helps.

This was a trick question

Since EPROM is erasable and programmable
and EEPROM is electrically erasable and programmably already,

they are both descendants of ROM
which is Read Only Memory. A good

EEPROM would get my vote,
the rom is permantly burn't by a machine.

A EPROM is also programed by a machine but it you open the window on the top and hold it under uv light is can be erased and reporgramed.

The EEPROM can have its data programed in the PC. The data will stay after power is removed so the bios stays after the unit is powered off.
