Hi there,

I installed the MIC 1.5 I had on my Front Page CD, and it works fine.

I juste have one MAIN PROBLEM: I cannot handle images larger than 4096
pixels, whereas my present images are much, much larger (in fact, computer
hardware ability is also so much larger now than 10 years ago...)

--> so is there any way I can get rid of those limits? somewhere in the
registry?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry. You are doomed. IC is for *web* graphics only, and cannot handle
Photoshop-sized images.

IC was a largely throwaway program, included at no cost with the FrontPage
web design program. IC was never intended for anything more, and says that
in its Help. Unfortunately, it is so good that users have tried for years to
extend it beyond its design limits. But no joy.

Photoshop and Corel are among the programs that can handle such large
images. I'm sure others in this group can think of more.

Hi,
what are you trying to do? 4096 pixel is a limit for composition space
only, but there is a more serious (memory) limit on the surface you can
apply an effect to. If you really want to workaround this, you would have to
split the image into few smaller sprites.

I am working with maps (geographic, cadastre) and satellite photos etc.
What I have to do is mainly to assemble images, not split them...
I also have to remove texts & legends from cadastre maps: I open them, they
are larger than 4096 pixels but it is ok so far; I then do my work and I
eventually cannot save them because of this limit problem!!!
As you see, I do not need any special effect feature.
Thanks anyway!

I repeat: Get yourself a more modern program that does not have that
limitation. Obsolete versions of Photoshop can do what you want, and they
don't cost much. I recommend 6.0 or (better) 7.0. Try eBay.
