"Technical Pen" stopped working
|

| wow! thank goodness i found you guys!
it has been quite a while since i've used MIC's "technical pen" effect.
i've not found a comparable plugin in my other sw packages. anyway, i've
printed out a black and white photo using this effect in the past. i wanted
to use it again, but it seems to have ceased to work.
i've uninstalled and reinstalled the MIC package from fp2000 and it still
does not work.
all i get is a white work area after applying the effect. i've tried the
different settings, but still no good. i've google'd "technical pen" with
"MIC", "MS IC", "Image Composer", etc. and didn't come up with the solution
any ideas?
thanks in advance!!!

| Hmm. It works for me. Did you try searching the Microsoft Knowledge Base?
| |
|
| thanks. i searched mskb for "image composer" and none addressed this issue.
i also tried other effects... "Bas Relief" and "Charcoal" did not work
either. i haven't finished going thru all the effects -- i only got thru
about a dozen. for testing, i used the default settings on a small file, in
both color and grayscale. so far, i've only come across these three effects
that don't function properly. <sigh> thanks anyway.
any other ideas greatly appreciated.

Well, there are always the ultimate fallbacks.
1. You could try installing IC on another computer. If it works there, IC is
OK, and something is wrong with your computer your OS.
or
2. Reformat the drive and start over. If that fails, you have serious
problems either with your computer or IC.
