I hope you don't mind my today's morning mood full of questions... ;-)

This is maybe a little bit off-topic, but it might by interesting what kind
of people are using ImageComposer?

i'm an elementary school [french] teacher - on a year leave for good behaviour ;)

i don't use MIC for my job really - i have made worksheets up and made our 25th anniversary invitation with it...
i have used it to make [mostly wedding & anniversary] invitations for friends/family
and i use it for oe6 stationery...calendars...
it's really just a creative outlet for me :)

Hi, thanks for your answer!

I should answer my question as well, so... I'm a student of math at Charles
University in Prague. Actually I don't use ImageComposer for studies
neither. ;) But I use it heavily since its first release ten years ago (wow,
is that so long??) mainly for designing software, occasionally some web
pages..well...more portals. It is so easier for me to "draw" the design
first and after I find it okay to code it, than just try and try and try it
with code..to find that it is not so good as I thought. I also use it for
editing and preparing all of icons and graphics for my applications.
Sometimes I use histogram features to improve photos, but today's
resolutions of cameras produce so large images that ImgComp just throws out
of memory. But I like the way ImgComp smoothes fonts (of course you have to
turn the ClearType off, otherwise it is absolutely useless) and also for
scaling images down, and sharpening them.

And I often use ImgComp's ability to generate palettes from selected
sprites.

Actually my specialization is mathematic methods of informatics security or
how it should be translated :) so I think I will use it time to time.. but I
enjoy this school very much so thats the main reason I think. ;)

Yep, cool piece of software.. :))) I'm not sure about the years, 96/97/98,
but did you use version 1.0 of MIC? I remember that I really liked changes
in 1.5 ;-)

Former computer software developer, now retired. I like retirement better
than software development. :)

no, i did not use 1.0 - maybe then i didn't use it until '98...when it came with...
front page '98 [which i still use, too...but now a more recent version - and everyone i talk to hates that program, too]
perhaps i should learn some new programs with better capabilities, but i'm quite happy with what i can do right now with what i have

have a good day, too :)

Also thanks for answer, walter!

Did you worked in a company or did you develop things you want to?
Because I quite like software development, however this is probably because
I don't have to do what others say... I hope I will never have to in
development, but maybe I'm just ..too young.. :)

Hey mamselle, if you are happy with it, don't change it! How many people do
use ImageComposer instead of Photoshop? And how cool MIC is.. ;-) So there
is no reason for switching because others say. I also used FrontPage quite a
lot so I know what it is about and the only reason I've changed it - to
Visual Studio - is because I needed some ... server code to run. ;-)

Have a luck!

I worked for other folks and did what they told me. The work was exciting
and challenging, but highly stressful.
