Author Making DaVinci's "The Last Supper" legible

I'm reading the novel "The DaVinci Code," and since I am an amateur
symbolist and graphics person myself, I am totally fascinated. (So are
enough other people that the book has been on the NYT bestseller list for 40
weeks.)

Like many people (Google for "clear copy of the Last Supper" to see what I
mean), I want a decent copy so I can study the fascinating details given in
the book.

The best copy I can find is really bad. I sent it to Photoshop and added a
bit of blur to get rid of the endless dots. I then sent it to Image
Optimizer and way over-optimized it because the resulting mushiness actually
made the few details a little clearer. Not bad, and much better, but not
what I want.

My question is this: does anyone know (a) where I can get a clear copy for
free, or (b) a technique (I have time but not money) for restoring a badly
deteriorated DaVinci JPEG?

Never mind. I got the answer from a Photoshop and alt.design.graphics
newsgroups.

This is almost as much fun as decoding Revelation--only someone else has
done all the work for me! :)

Hello Walter,

I just got the book for my birthday on the 3rd and read and just loved it. I
will read it again and go over it bit by bit and look up the pictures and
stuff they are talking about. Could you email me a copy of that pic as I
would also like a copy. Would you mind sending it to me? Remove the XXX from
my email addy for it to work.

Thanks

Marlies
