| I had to restore my pc this morning...before i did, i
saved all my stuff to email, (hey, i had no disk)...
anyway, my pictures are coming up as a .ink file...is
there any way to find them or recover them, or convert
them?
please help...they are pics of my babies first year....
thanks in advance for any help...
ps..if there is no way to get them, just tell me...thanks

I think you are looking at .lnk (for link), not .ink. What you have then
are links to the files, not the files themselves backed up. I don't know
what you mean by "restore" but if you formatted the hard drive you might
want to do a search on data recovery. There are companies that can get it
back, even after a format but it will cost you a few hundred dollars
(perhaps over 1000). There are also some programs that claim they can do it
and you can download them for free, but those have yet to work for me.
Obviously, you should not be writing anything to the disk in the meantime if
you are contemplating data recovery.
