Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use Movie Maker
to get a video tape from a VHS tape to the computer's
hard drive. I was wondering if I could hook up a VCR to
the computer. I don't have the videotape that I used to
shoot the video which would allow me to use the
normal "camera to computer" connection. So I want to know
if there is a way to copy the video from the VCR to the
computer's hard drive

First of all, you may want to direct future questions to one of the Windows
Moviemaker usenet groups:

microsoft.public.windowsme.moviemaker

and microsoft.public.windowsxp.moviemaker

To capture video from your VCR to your computer, you need a video capture card
or other device (sometimes a USB device) to capture the video and convert it to
a digital format like AVI, MPEG or Quicktime.

Depending on your computer, there are several ... Doing a websearch for "Video
capture card" will give you a lot of info, and your local computer store
probably carries something that will work. They start around $40 and go up from
there, depending on video quality, frame rate and accessories.

Good luck
