automatically installing the flash player from a CD

| Hi all,
I'm distributing a CD that uses Flash within some htmls, and I've
included several varieties of the Flash player for those who might
need it. The drawback is that if a user needs to install the Flash
player, they have to do it manually by going to the CD and double
click on one of the players. It would be a lot better if --after
asking for permission-- the player could install automatically just
like it does when you're on line and taken to MM's site to install it.
Does anyone know if this be done off-line as well?
Thanks ----
Dennis

| if youre going to have it within an html page, use a program like autorun
pro. it can autostart the html file you tell it to. then just create a link
to the flash player on the html page thats on the cd or the macromedia
website(assuming the end user has a connection) otherwise make sure you have
a copyu of it on the cd...just make sure the links noticable, so they can
see it to click it..that way they have the option of doing it or not..thats
the solution i came up with to use with the cds i author...
hope this helps

| Thanks for your suggestion. I tried linking to the flash intall
program on the CD (the EXE file I got from MM), but the browser just
asks me if I want to "download" it and asks me where to save it. What
I was wondering is if the user can install the flash player from
within an html (which is how it works when you install the player
online at MM's site -- you just click 'Install Now"
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave...anguage=English)
and not require them to open their file explorer program, find the
flash player exe on the CD and then manually launch it. I can't
assume, BTW, that they will have an active internet connection.

| Thanks, but I wanted to keep flash within an html -- thinking some
people might be skittish of an exe from someone they don't know.
