Please check http://www.msn.com and specifically the Gap Flash ad that plays when the msn.com main page loads.

A similar flash ad plays out even on rediff.com

How does one call these ad in a layer on top of the Main page matter. I can build the swf file but would like to know
1) Is it a typical javascript function that is calling the swf file to be played in a seperate layer on top of the main page matter?
2) In the MSN.COM page it is possible to replay the animation for the GAP advertisement. How is this done?

Any answers out there!

Thanks in Anticipation

it is flash placed in DHTML layer , using Wmode set to be with transparent background.
That's why many of them have custom shapes .
check :

scroll down to :
"Transparent Flash and DHTML Layers"
it will walk you through with all the steps.

Try this. Build your swf file and specify in fps how long you want the swf to play. At the end of the swf file you add an action to load another movie (swf) to play and so on and so forth.

Hope this is helpful. Please feel free to get other opinion.

kind regards
kelv
