| I am creating a catalog for a client using a projector that can be downloaded from the clients website. The question is after the download to a users machine, we update the projector on the server, how can the update be reflected on a users desktop dynami
cally without having the end user re-download the projector?
I hope my question is clear any help out there will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards

well, you can't really .
You would be able to update some dynamically loaded content like text or images but
not exe itself. Also these images and text only will be updated for time being .
Once closed and reopen won't remember and there is not even way for flash to store
it . Unless with some custom made tools ....

| i think that will depend on user to download the latest version of ur projecter.
my suggestion,
make a blank exe.
just giv action load movie and full screen and exit button
load movie action should be in http format
like this
loadMovieNum("http://www.domain.com/images/abc.swf", 1);
so that u can update abc.swf.
when ever user open his main exe from desktop, that will load latest swf from ur server.
minus points: user should be connected to net always :(
its just an idea if it works great !! other wise ignore..

| Thanks so much for your suggestion. I will give it a shot and let you know how it turns out your suggestion does makes sense.
when using the loadmovienum are you saying create 2 exe files? if so is it possible to have 2 exe load on call? otherwise if loading a swf how do you specify the swf as fullscreen or i guess i could try using the same dimensions as the exe?
see example http://www.ecnnct.com scroll down to the bottom of page to see ecatalog fullscreen demo. Once again thanks.

| no just giv exe to the user , u don't need to make 2 exe's, also we can't call exe in a flash movie
eg:
if ur making a movie in 1024 X 768.
make both exe and ur swf in same size .
giv fullscreen script on ur main exe and exit button too..
just find the attached file, just to giv u an idea
u can see a swf file is loading to the exe
note:
the file is in MX format.
just publish to exe

| Thanks again Anishu,
I gave your suggestion a shot and it works nicely with the file you sent me. The only problem it launches a browser window when you exit the movie although i can live with that, is there a workaround to making the browser window not come up? I appreciate
your help.
Thanks Again
