Author any script for choosing frame color?
Arm Bar

Greetings all,

Are there any scripts available that help choose a frame or mat color,
based on the prevalent colors within an image? Being color blind, it
would be useful for me (and help avoid choosing colors that don't quite
go well together <G> ). Using PSP X. TIA.

This isn't a script but it's a tutorial you may find useful.

Someone could make a script from it I suppose.

Thanks SR. I've seen this tutorial and tried to apply it from memory,
since I couldn'r relocate it. Instead of decreasing color depth, I
posterized. Didn't work as well. Thanks for reposting the url. I have
it bookmarked now.

I am the one who triggered this query. I seem to remember a discussion in
this group about condensing the colours in an image to a single colour. It
was about 12 months ago as I recall. Has anyone with a better memory got
any information?

Thanks Joske. I'll give it a try. Sounds like it accomplishes a
similar task as the tutorial SR posted.

I just tried it, Joske. It works similarly to the tutorial, but the
resulting colors are different from those generated by the tutorial. I
like the tutorial better. I think I can probably make a script by
recording the steps. Pretty simple, but I'll loose a tiny bit of
flexibility (degree of blur, number of resulting colors).

You can set the steps to interactive, or run the script
interactively, if you want control over your script.

I tried Joe's script on a number of photos, and I find that even if
I only let it generate 12 colours, they are mostly very useable
ones. Of course you may not be able to see that, I don't know.

Some time back I turned Kris Z's method into a PSP 9 script and have
attached it here. I don't know enough about the differences between 9 &
X to know if it'll work properly in PSP X, but here it is anyway. Hope
it helps.

Thanks I'll give it a try.
