| When I click on this newsgroup (Scripting) there is a count indicating posts
have been downloaded but no 'unread files' appear. I do not have any news
message rules. The other groups will display in bold the newly arrived
messages so I can have the 'unread messages' hidden. In this group it
doesn't matter whether all messages are displayed or not. There is no
indication where the new message is listed.
Should I unsubsubscribe and then redo the listing?

Well, that's a hoot! I posted this message and it showed up in my Outlook
Express. Who knows what gremlins are playing with other posts????

| Rose, mine works the same as yours, so I am hoping for an answer also.
Thanks for posting the?

Unsubscribe, close OE, open OE, subscribe.
Otherwise:
Very few new posts show up here as a rule... it's a quiet group.
What you may be seeing when the count temporarily goes up is this: I
set (and mentioned) a crosspost to the photography group and this
group for two of my WatercolorLuminance script posts - knowing not
everyone reads both groups. So you may see 'jumps' if you
synchronized the photography group and then went here.

| Rose,
Not being familiar with Outhouse Express, nor do I use it, I
can't help but wonder if it works similarly to Forté's Agent.
See note below from Agent's help files.
Whenever Agent retrieves headers it records the posted date and time
for the newest message retrieved for each folder. The next time you do
a Get New Headers operation for that folder Agent will retrieve only
headers posted after this stored date and time. (And it then stores
the new date and time.)
Cheers,
Tom

I am seeing the same as Rose.
I concluded it was cross-postings which seems to be confirmed by Joske.

Okay, it appears to be the crossposting. In times past scripting was an
active group (likely version 8 <grin> ) I did a folder clean up and deleted
all, compacted thinking that might be associated with the oddity noticed in
this Scripting group so I missed the recent WatercolorLuminance script that
everybody in the photo group is having a grand time applying to their stash
of photos <lol>

You remember those days too? Yes, the J*sc group was pretty busy,
and it was a wealth of information and inspiration when Gary Barton
still posted. And Joe Fromm, from J*sc and even later when he wasn't
from there anymore.
Actually, that's why I crossposted. There used to be a time every
script was posted/announced here. With the 'dumbing down' of later
versions and the limited help files, not much is scripted anymore, I
guess. There seems to be a wealth of PS Actions around though...
