Does anyone know of a script to produce rain appearance on an image?

That would depend on what you mean by rain. For instance, do you
want to see rain at a distance (e.g. as falling streaks) or do
you want to see individual rain droplets (e.g. as in the Balls
and Bubbles filter)? Are you after photographic accuracy or do
you only want to create the impression of rain in a graphic?
Answer those questions and it will be easier to give you a useful
response that is relevant to your needs.

Ulead has a free pluging called Particle with various effects, one
of which is rain. You'll have to fiddle with the sliders to try to
get something looking somewhat realistic, but it's the only one I'm
aware of that might help. You can get it here:

Kind of neat. Now I just have to figure out either the best size
image to use it on or how to adjust the interactive paramaters to
make it work on images of various sizes.

But a nice find, IMHO!

Thanks, this looks like just the effect I am wanting. Can't wait to try it.
