Re: Maximize - Zoom_maximized.PspScript (0/1)

| Hi
It's been quite rewarding to wait for some more answers :-) -
thank you all.
Basically, I think the 3 Zoom icons in Pan Tool Options /
Windows menu are not very helpful. I have a script that fits
any size image to the PSP working area - whichever dimension
touches first and centers the other (or both).
But the image's "Windows window framework" (!) persists and I
find this a waste and quite distracting - an unnecessary
addition to the already cluttered screen. On clicking the
image window title bar's "maximize" icon the window disappears
and I can now use Zoom and Pan within the full working area.
Very comfortable too eg. for any selection work along the
image's borders etc. This remains so until I use say "tile
windows vertically" etc.
It's not overly tiring to hit "maximize" ever again, but it's
nagging and increasing the daily mouse click count.
*********
So that answers Fred's question: I'm looking for a squence to
be integrated in my existing script that kills the image
window framework in the same single operation.
*********
This of course should work for the active image only no matter
how many are open. I'm not sure about how the "tabbed images"
approach works in this respect - I can't tell, my current
scripting capabilities are not that good.
For any experimental purposes, I attach the script in present
version - copyright by some Mike Williams in 2005, with my
zoom calculation added. The final zoom factor depends on your
available net working area. I bound the script to the left-/
uppermost key below Esc, so I can actuate it with the left
hand thumb - while the mouse/visual system is resting.
The name as yet is wishful thinking...

| Just add the code Suz provided to the script. The tabbing works for
| all open images. The zoom will only work on the active document.

| Since the calculation is the main function of the script, and you
| say the calculation was yours, name it any way you want, I'd say :-)

Hi all,
Great: the 3 lines added to the script do the job. I never
before noticed the tabbing feature - quite a new experience
replacing of the cumbersome list in Window menu. Quite
attractive - I might become to like it.
But it's "one eye laughing and the other weeping": the tabs
re-occupy the height gained by getting rid of the image window
framework and title bar - equivalent to about 8% usable image
area. (You remember the guy who rented out his hompepage
10x50px wise and got millionaire?)
So my desire for a tidy PSP screen persists,
and you might possibly find some other approach?
Thanks again - flowe

| Can you post a screenshot of what you want your screen to look like? Suz

Where do you keep your tool options (View, Palettes, Tool Options)?
If they're underneath the main top menu, like most seem to have
them, rolling them up will give you more room for the tabbed
documents.
See what else can be gained by rolling up palettes. Personally I
find some (not all) rollups to be a hassle while in the midst of
work, but you could of course use a custom workspace for when those
meagre 8% are absolutely needed:
Run your edited Zoom script, then further set up the workspace and
save it (File, Workspace). Next record loading the workspace - this
is something you'll have to do yourself, since the settings are in
the script and personal.

So I have to accept that Windows "maximize" can't be scripted
- not really a big issue - only a pleasant idea.
I'll find out whether TabbedDocuments better integrates with
my habitual workflow or else rather make more manual use of
the Windows maximize button, this nicely working with the
often used "tile vertically". One more option: make more use
of the F keys to toggle the palettes.
Keep dreaming of the second monitor...
Thank you and Joske for your kind efforts.
