Author painting action script...

hi folks, i wonder whether this http://mkv25.net/?item_id=114 is possible
through scripting in PSPX too.

maybe someone could point me to painting scripts with input from e.g. files,
links or other data or at the least with the use of random functions.

the code which is used in processing (http://processing.org) - the language
which is used here - can be found at http://texone.org/baum3/baum3.pde

you can find even more examples on http://texone.org or further links on
http://corpxpress.blog.de

thanks and all the best

I don't see painting on this page, only a panorama photo?

I think I saw some projects done with processing a while back
(probably somewhere here http://rhizome.org/artbase/ ), but PSP
works with Python http://www.python.org/

Some scripts by RonV contain random functions. If they're not on the
server in this group anymore, there should be one in the graphics
group, title is something with 'tangle'. Also, take a look around on
http://pixelnook.home.comcast.net/ I may have a few more scripts by
others using random functions, but I'd have to do a search first.

sorry, my fault due to copy & paste.
the link should read e.g. http://mkv25.net/index.php?item_id=76 or
http://mkv25.net/index.php?section=java for different animations.

I'm sure you could script (record) something like

http://mkv25.net/index.php?item_id=55 or
http://mkv25.net/index.php?item_id=76

and make the steps land in separate layers which you could then
sequence in Animation Shop. You would then have a gif animation.
It'd be a finite sequence of course that can only be repeated to
make it seem infinite.

As for the rest, I don't think Python within PSP is what you can use
to make these works, let's call them executables to clarify. You can
record a script of the steps you take, like make the Spiral Array
Access, and Python could probably even do the calculations (I'm not
nearly script savvy enough to tell you how). But what would you
have? A script that you can run in PSP and watch it running to see
it work towards the end goal. I don't think that is what you have in
mind.

joske, that's what i want - at the end i am only interested in the final
picture. there is no need to watch (actually it looks like we have to :-) )
especially i didn't want to replay it.
it really just the final picture, which i want to stop with a key-stroke at
a certain point, when the picture is "ready".

maybe you know some sources or people who might help.
thanks - all the best
