Nope. You can usually create a script in PSP, however, that might
achieve a result that does what you want.

No. A completely different programming language is used. Also the
features of Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop are not the same. (If the
Photoshop action features the Jump command and PSP only has the
Squat command, the intended athleticism isn't going to happen is
it?) You can, however, create a listing of the steps in a Photoshop
action using Photoshop. Armed with that listing you can think about
how best to emulate the procedure in PSP and can then record or
program the necessary steps in a PSP script.

Thanks - I didn't think they could be used, but just wanted to check.

The effect is shown here on mouseover. Really nice.

I have seen instructions for similar effects -
will try to dig them back up and play around with it.

Thanks for the replies,

I don't think it's a big deal. This is built into PSP already. Just
apply PSP's Soft Focus filter. I've attached an example along with
the settings I used.

You can get a very similar effect by using Soft Focus in PSPX, and there are
commercial filters that do this as well.

Well I ported that kind of effect in my script pack. The scrip creates a
soft focus layer then create a mask on which you use the airbrush to tone
down the effect of the script. (facial area usually)

This scrip works with PSP 8, 9 and X.

Thanks so much spandex. I knew PSP could do it. I haven't completely
converted to PSPX - guess I am a little put off by its quirks. But it does
have some nice new features added since my version 8.

Thanks for taking the time to share the settings you used. It looks good!

Thanks for the reply Wendy.

I was looking at a photographer's gallery and she had listed what steps and
filters she used to get certain effects and this PS Action was one of them,
along with some other filters.

Hey! I have been to your site before and am glad to be directed back there
again! I know I have it bookmarked. I look forward to experiment with some
of my photos as soon as I get the chance.

Beautiful little Justine ... beautiful family! :-)

Thanks so much for the reply,
