New Script - ScrapBack
|

| Folks,
The good people across in the Scrapbooking forum approached me to write
a little script which automatically creates a scrapbook page and fills
it with a pattern. The main criteria was to offer certain default
standard page sizes and resolution, plus the ability to use either the
patterns in the Materials Palette or from an open image.
The user is given various options, including a choice of pre-determined
page formats (plus a custom size), and also 200ppi or 300ppi resolution
(plus a custom resolution). The 'standard' values were given to me as
the normal page formats used by scrapbookers.
You can also either choose to use any patterns within the Materials
Palette (either the default patterns, or one placed in the Patterns
folder by yourself), or, you can use any image that is currently open
(only one image open at one time).
This open image can then be scaled, angled and/or converted to a
seamless tile, which is then used as a fill material.
It was this final stage that caused a bit of a scripting problem, the
only workable solution being to save/overwrite a file called
'sheilsoft.jpg' to the users Patterns folder. A long way round to solve
a simple task, but the only one available due to an access limitation of
PSP. Because of this small 'write' process...
This script MUST be run from the Scripts-Trusted folder.
***
Note - if you run the script, using an open image, and your page doesn't
fill with the expected tile, simply delete your caches by going to
File/Preferences/Reset Preferences/ and tick 'Delete all Caches'.
This shouldn't happen to most, but it did happen a couple of times
during testing with a couple of folk, and the above fixed it.
***
You can download this script free here...

You can check out the development of this script across at the
Scrapbooking forum.
As usual, any comments and criticism welcome.
Rgds,
Howard

| Hi Howard --
Just wanted to say a big "THANK YOU" for all of your your hard work, and all
of your patience with us scrappers. <G>
I also appreciate that you posted the script to your site for version 8 as
well -- I thought I was going to miss out on this because you were
developing in 9. (Still haven't located my PSP 9 CD and don't plan to pay
Corel $ 32 for a replacement CD that I only paid $ 50 for the upgrade in the
1st place !)
Thank you !!! Colleen
