I don't see that, or I misunderstand. However, the script you run
within your script, the Airbrush and Ink, was written in 8.

I ran your script interactively to see the steps. Personally, I like
the outcome better without the enhanced edges. Or I'd erode them
after the second edge enhancement.

Thanks for the comments, Joske.

I don't have the Airbrush & Ink script in my PSP 8, only the X. When I open
the script in Notepad, I see this:

def ScriptProperties():
return {
'Author': u'Jasc Software, Inc.',
'Copyright': u'Copyright (c) 2004 Jasc Software, Inc. All rights
reserved.',
'Description': "Airbrush and Ink Effect",
'Host': u'Paint Shop Pro 9',
'Host Version': u'9.00'
}

If you have a version for 8, I'd love to have it!

If you like a different effect with my script, re-write it, modify, do
whatever you'd like. When I say feel free to use it as you like, I mean just
that. All I did was play with different settings & then record it - nothing
anyone else couldn't have come up with, so I don't mind anyone doing
anything they'd like with it. :-)

Thanks, Adriaan!

I had a lot of fun trying different things & was happy to come up with
something I like (FINALLY!). As long as I remember to work on a copy instead
of the original, sometimes it's fun to just try pushing different 'buttons'
to see what happens. :D

I think it's the same script. Your script runs an airbrush and ink
script, this is from your code:

# RunSelectedScript
App.Do( Environment, 'RunSelectedScript', {
'ScriptName': u'Airbrush and ink',
'GeneralSettings': {
'ExecutionMode':
App.Constants.ExecutionMode.Default,
'AutoActionMode':
App.Constants.AutoActionMode.Match,
'Version': ((10,0,0),1)
}
})

Thanks, maybe people will. My words were just a suggestion for you.
By the way, you can adjust the Halftone in better ways than you did
in the other example that you didn't quite like: just set all the
Screen Angles at the same angle (number).

Joske
I have had some sucess with salt and pepper,
your rusty edges script and then halftone filter
getting a softer comic look.
much appreciated.
After I run the salt and pepper I promote the
swags of colour to different layers.. then run your script.
I was thinking it would be nice to run it on all layers
with a transparency....
Anyway just thought I would share somewhere else your
goodies make for a lot more fun for me
thanks

I enjoy a compliment from you, Carrie.

I've often said this, I know, I know... :-) But the Halftone was a
brilliant addition to PSP for me even though it isn't intended for
the ways I use it at all.

THANK YOU for that tip! I had tried using the presets & then 'messing' with
the settings & really did make a big mess. I tried using all settings the
same & what an improvement! I appreciate you taking the time to let me know.

fwiw, I really don't have the Airbrush & Ink script available for v8, just
the one I copied & pasted the info from. Maybe someone at sometime re-wrote
it for backward compatibility? I tried running the one I have in v8 & I get
the "created for a later version" error message. That's ok - I'll live. :-D
