It looks like the knight is patiently explaining something to the
horse.
Something like 'you have to be brave, because...'

What could it be? :-)

Thanks for the compliment Carrie; I didn't know my ignorance about anything
to do with horses would be so obvious. :-)

I'm terrible at making up stories; think I'd better leave that to you. <g>

Ron is the storyteller here :-) I'm not kidding that your knight has
a pose as if he's trying to convince the horse of something.

Adrien
I was not being critical really - just horses are my life

ahhh well it is a nice horse though - and that is most important.
but not a warhorse.. you need one of the sturdier ponies pre 1520
for a lone knight and large chargers (like the warm bloods and cart
horse crosses) post then, Thes elegant types where only in Arabia
and never could carry armer. The modern dutch and german warmblood
are the closest and maybe for gun horses the french and russian
heavy horses - still bred today for pulling ceremonial guns, coffins, and
ridden by bass drummers. They are indeed magnificent creaturse.
I own 4 holsteiners direct descendents from german light gun horses.
they are amazing.. not pretty but magnificent, unruffable, forward
and sound. Nearly all Dressage horses of the top order have similar
bloodlines..
If you look at historical paintings etc you may find good information.
I think you are getting good enough with your basic skills to go to the
next step and make the scenes more authentic in some ways.. Not
slavishly copy but remember a warhorse must charge and survive
pikemen, with a lot of weight and personal armement -
this pretty horse's long gullet and neck marks him as a running horse
not a fighting horse so his rider would be clad in leather not plate..

I am enjoying watching you pregress so well and hope to see more

Heh! Welcome to my world! When you create something, there's always
going to be an expert on the subject that will tell you why you're not
accurate.

I like the way you're progressing. Blank plains are showing details,
vegetation, shadows, etc.

As I told you some time back, just keep on working on it, and you'll
surprise yourself with the scenes you'll create.

What I didn't mention is that the foreground to
background was really fabulous and the inter-
reaction between horse and knight believable.
The whole millieu works well I was just being picky :o)
This is the first one I have seen that really nails the distance
well and accomodates the near focus.. The gradient change
adds emphasis and ambience.
