Here are a few I have done, Just using brushes. Trying to learn different idea's with the art media and scripts. instead of just brushes. The lighthouse at the bottom is the first thing I ever tried.

Thanks. I have just always used the frames that are in PSP and didn't really
know how to adjust them to make them look right. Will try your
suggestions.on the next one.
I try to do from scratch but they sure are not professioal LOL

VERY nicely done, Lynn. Not many of us in this newsgroup paint from scratch unless some are doing it in secret! LOL Keep posting.

If you're using PSP 9, it's easier just to tick the Rotate Frame 90o CW in
the Picture Frame window. In PSP X it's Rotate Frame Right.

Hi, Lynn. Nice work.

Lots of folks paint with PSP's raster brushes, although we haven't seen
a lot of that in this group in the last couple months. You might enjoy
seeing JP Kabala's tutorials on painting flowers, though:

http://jpkabala.com/paranormal/marigolds.html
http://jpkabala.com/paranormal/lilacs.html

These were written for PSP8, but they're useful for PSPX users, too.

I've done a little painting using the Art Media tools. If you're used to
real art media, the Art Media tools might prove to be a little
unintuitive at first, but once you're used to the tools they're kinda
fun. One thing that might come in handy is the PSP9 Users Guide, which
you can get here:

http://www.jasc.com/support/custome...9components.asp

The PSPX Users Guide is pretty sparse, whereas the PSP9 Users Guide is
pretty extensive. (The Art Media tools were introduced in PSP9.)

As for adjusting frames, another approach is to use the Warp Mesh tool.
Increase the canvas size a bit with Image > Canvas Size, then make the
frame layer the active layer and choose Mesh Warp. Hold down the Shift
key and drag on a node to adjust an entire row or column, as shown in
the attached screen shot. Drag right or left to move a column of pixels;
drag up or down to move a row. (If that isn't clear, let me know and
I'll go into more detail.)

Very nice Lynn !...and welcome to the board. I have been experimenting with Painter Essentials 3 and more recently Painter IX.5, but I have not have not yet produced anything that I would like to post...hopefully in the future I will get the nack of it. The nice thing about these programs is that they come with a whole set of wonderful tutorials. You have done a great job with PSP9 and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks, I looked up the tutorials and also for the manual, as Idon't have
one with my PSP 9.
I am just now learning the art media tools andalso the mesh warp tool. Have
alot to learn in PSP 9 yet. But have found it pretty easy to work in.

Please stay out of the closet Wendy. That's a very nice painting.

I see nothing wrong with it . You should have seen some of the first things I tried. I have found it alot easier in PSP 9 then what I was doing in 6 or 7

I wonder if it's really to LOL about... The level in this group is
for crying out loud compared to some sites with PSP work and places
with PS work.

And to think, this is not the umpteenth Yahoo! sigtag group but THE
place to be, offered by Corel itself - it could be teeming with
interesting images and responses. Instead, it is occupied, I am
tempted to type 'held hostage', by a social atmosphere bordering on
a recreational room for the highly aged where all the participants
are nodding over their half-woven baskets, and all you hear is 'Very
nice, Mrs. Jones!' by volunteer caretakers thus lending themselves
some importance :-)

One reason why I stopped posting work from scratch that I value.
These smothering niceties and the safe creations go hand in hand,
leaving most else stand aside as if it didn't have a place here.

This is not saying none of the posters here couldn't be more
venturesome than they are, or are all devoid of graphic talent. It
is saying that apparently the talents using PSP out there have no
desire to post among us here.

Painting from scratch is quite a challenge and it looks like you're very
much up to it ;-) I do some occasionally with the regular brush tools.
Personally, I find them to be more intuitive than the art media.

Now hold on a minute there, Joëlle! Your enhancements are done with your own
excellent eye and feel for artistry, and that too is creative talent.
