| Can anyone explain why these are different results in different versions? **another reason to have to keep older version of PSP on your HD **
These are the exact same image, applying the Wave filter with the same settings to both of them..

Changes were made to improve the operation. Sometimes this means that
the same settings create slightly different results, as you've seen.
I often complained that many effects in v7 were too
strong/over-active.

Yes, I can explain. In one version the units are pixels. In the
other version the units are percentages of the image size.

This isn't really a reason to keep the old version of PSP. (I'm
not sure why you say "another" since, if you gave a first reason,
I missed it completely.) It is relatively easy to convert from
pixels to percentage sizes. However, you don't have to because
Suz Shook wrote a script to do it for you:
