Nice colour...has a real watercolour look to it. The program has lots of
potential, but like you I have not spent much time with it.

I agree on the potential, David. I am a bit overwhelmed with all I am
wanting to learn right now. But I can see that I will spend many happy
hours learning and playing with this one.
I downloaded the Trial Version of buZZPro 3 again and will call tomorrow and
ask for a key.
Thanks, Doris

Could it do more contrast, meaning there would be more variety (of
interest to the eyes) of light and dark? I feel this is too much of
the same, an overall wash with no highlights to catch the eye of the
viewer. It would work as a backdrop (for a logo or message) but it
doesn't have enough catching elements to be a standalone image.
But I gather PSP wasn't used at all in the making of this photo
manipulation? Seeing this is a Corel PSP group, would you consider
applying PhotoArtMaster and then manually adding some hightlights
with Lighten/Darken or Dodge? I don't think it could be done on this
particular image, as there isn't much detail left to make a nice
balance between highlights, but I'm guessing it could work well on
more detailed renders with this program.

Oh, I was just playing around. It's pretty much a given that I am using PSP
X. In this one, the texture and the mask and the blurred edges were done in
PSP X. and of course it was resized and optimized in PSP
Maybe you would like this one better. It was done at the same time as the
other one. If I remember correctly I used Colored Edges and a mask in PSP X.
Also resized and optimized in PSP
If I had been serious, I think I would have cloned in some extra water
beneath the barge.

Hmmm... nope, now I like the first one better :-) I think that if
one is going to use one dominant color, it is more interesting for
the eye to have maybe two or three other colors here and there. Does
the program do that? If it doesn't, I think that maybe I'd erase
lots on a duplicate layer of the original above the processed one,
and then maybe apply a high blur or something that comes close to
the PhotoArtMaster effect.

You have given me something to think about, Joske. I have no art training
whatever and very limited but growing natural ability in art. I will keep
your suggestions in mind for future projects.

You express it well in this context, having a growing but natural
ability in art. It's our eyes. They can learn to see beyond the
first "oh that's impressive" when we see a filter effect. It's that
first impression that tends to make us not look any further.
I often compare it to music: we hear a surprising diddle and our
first reaction is "hey, that's nice". But where one tune will grow
more interesting as we hear it a second, third, and tenth time,
another one will fall totally flat on hearing it again: the diddle
turns out to be nothing but a trick to fluff up an otherwise
unoriginal tune.
Will be interested in your next project, it's nice to learn and see
each other learning.
