Very nice Fuzie ! What type of graphics tablet do you use? Do you find that
you have more control with the tablet and pen than you do with a
mouse?....very nice effect.

Thank you. :-) Although I think I am going to like Virtual Painter better,
though. Essentials does pretty much what Art Dabbler and PSP X's art media
can do. So I probably could save money and just get VP when I can afford.

AceCad's AceCat Flair 4 x 5 USB. Had it quite awhile actually. Just haven't
really done much with it until now.

It depends on the circumstances. When I'm working on a painting or graphics
that requires some free-form curves, or many many brush strokes, then the
tablet is ideal. But for selecting tools, etc. I prefer the mouse as it's
easier to use for that. I think that the tablet will be reserved for
painting/drawing. The pen's "button" can be a bit hard to use and some
things you can double-click with the pen by tapping it on the tablet twice.
Thing is, these operations take a lot of practice.
When tracing/drawing, etc. Especially tracing and drawing, one does have to
go very slowly and be careful. But I think I get more accurage results for
these operations with the tablet than the optical mouse.
Another thing I like about the tablet is the ability to vary opacity and/or
strokes depending on how hard you press down on the pen and your brush
variance settings in PSP.

I was surprised myself. It took awhile but it's what I came up with. After
that, I didn't have as good of luck, unfortunately. I'll just need more
practice. I think though I'll practice with PSP X's art media tools.

Thanks for the info Fuzzie. I have been considering a tablet for some time
now, but am still undecided.

I'm leaning towards Virtual Painter I think. I want to try a few different
filters and stuff before I finally decide though.

Try some of the Art Media tools with Trace checked. Don't expect
anything to be trivially easy. This site has some tutorials.

Some cool stuff here. This art thing kept me busy all day and I didn't get
my housework done. Bad me!
