Actually an interesting effect, Joelle.
But another thing I've noticed viewing these images and I wonder
if anybody else sees it.
The blue bowl, which is hung on the wall so that we view the
outside botton, provides an optical illusion for me. Sometimes
when I look at it (in any of the renders or the original) the
bowl looks inverted, as if I'm looking into the inside of the
bowl (i.e., as if it's hung on the wall with the outside bottom
against the wall. When I open three renders and the original
together in PSP it's quite amazing to suddenly see one one bowl
as if looking into the inside, then glance at the other images
and see some like that and others change from that view to the
correct view.
I've seen other optical illusions like that, generally with drawn
geometric shapes, and just noticed this when I saw SR's post and
thought she had deliberately inverted the bowl just for fun.
Then I realized that, after looking at it a bit, it went back to
it's original position.
Am I the only one seeing this and, if so, why would I and not at
least some others? (On the other hand, I can never make out
those 3D things that are supposed to appear from staring at
colored dithered images!)

No you certainly are not the only person seeing this. Optical illusions can
make you/me apply the wrong tools.
I also often do a double-take when bevelling something! The bevel almost
looks like a cut-out. I have been known to double-check.. which tool I used
:-)
Must be something to do with the way our eyes work. The Veggie will have a
scientific explanation for this, I am sure.
Ha, I remember those images, it took forever before I 'saw' the first one!
:-)

The blue bowl looks like it's magically tacked with its back to the
wall all the time to me, Joe... and the two other objects look like
Turkish bread loaves that got shot to me :-)
David posted the original, and I *think* it's a painting but I'm not
100% sure because it could well be an already worked-on photo.
Anyway, if you look at that image, you'll probably also see that the
blue bowl seems to be floating slightly in front of the wall, while
yet its shadow on the right is flat against the wall. Doesn't seem
to make sense, does it :-) Maybe David knows the maker, and if these
inconsistencies might have been created deliberately.

I'm sure others (could) see these things. A better question would
have been why nobody but you mentions this, or similar observations
about posted graphics beyond praise.
