Author CUTTING AND PASTING
BILLIII

WHEN I CLICK MY SELECTION TOOL ICON I CAN DRAW A 4 SIDED BOX AROUND MY IMAGE WITH
MY MOUSE, THE HIT CONTROL C [TO CUT] AND CONTROL V [TO PASTE] TO A NEW IMAGE

HOWEVER . . .

HOW DO IT DO THAT "FREEHAND" WITH THE MOUSE.

ONCE I HAVE DRAWN WHAT LINES I CAN, I CAN'T FIGURE OUT
HOW TO CUT AND PASTE TO A NEW IMAGE IF THE TOOL ISN'T
THE SQUARE/DIAGONAL ONE.

Works the same for any kind of selection or even if there is no
selection.

Use the Lasso aka Freehand selection tool.

and Ctrl-V continue to work.

Your Shift key is stuck. Please unstick it.

Corel forbids personal opinions of this kind in the newsgroups.

Basically the same way. Make your selection, Ctrl C (copy the selection), then Ctrl V (paste as a new image) the selection. The difference is all you'll do is copy your selection, you won't remove it and the original image stays intact. If you actually wanted to "cut out" your selection (make a hole in the original), use Ctrl X (cut) instead of Ctrl C. Also, Ctrl L pastes your selection as a new layer in the original image. So:

Ctrl C copyies
Ctrl X cuts
Ctrl V pastes the selection as new image
Ctrl L pastes the selection as new layer.

SpRu, that was part of BILLIII's signature - you clipped off the author's
name - it wasn't a personal opinion, as you thought. I've left my signature
in this time, although I do often delete it at this board. If Corel doesn't
want signatures, then it should not encourage them.

Also, it could be that BILLIII may not understand that typing in all caps is
considered shouting on forums, so it may be helpful to gently advise him of
that, rather than saying that his "shift key is stuck," the intent of which
may be lost on him. ;-)
