Maybe he's an ex- Army Ranger. I had a neighbor that was a Ranger
Instructor at the Eglin test range, and he'd become so used to eating
snakes that he looked upon six foot and longer rattlers as free-range
chicken. Every time he spotted one, he'd invite us over for BBQ'ed
rattlesnake steaks. They do taste somewhat like chicken...
I'm no expert at 3d, still learning myself. However, here's a couple
of things...
The male model is suffering from 'Football padding syndrome', where
the joints are overly swollen. Something you can do about that is to
make the figure fully transparent for the background render, then
render him alone and save as PNG format. This places him on a
transparent background and you can use the PSP eraser to shave those
bulges off. Use PSP layers to rejoin the pieces. You'll also need to
learn the use of the 'Smudge Powder Puff' to correct some joint
problems.
It appears as if you're using an environmental ground and backdrop
image. It's a pain to get equal lighting on both planes so one isn't
darker than the other. What I normally do, is to create at least two
infinite light sources at a Y above the figures so I can see the way
they point, and rotate them 45 deg. from the back wall and in respect
to the ground plane. Also make certain they're set to not cast
shadows. See attachment.
I like the way you posed the front of the python, but he's got a back
half, too. The only way I ever see a snake fully straightened out is
when they've shuffled off this mortal coil. (ooooooo... bad pun!)
Oh, and sign your artwork. Let people know who did it! And be proud
of it!
Ron

It's going to take a while for all that information to sink in so I've saved

I'd like to add Ron that my experience with 3D software and Paint Shop pro.
is not great and I might not be able to impplement your suggestions. I tried
very hard to get a curve in my snake but gave up for the time being. Thanks
again and I hope you won't be to hard on me if you don't see much
improvement in the near future.
Regards,

Come on, now... I think you're going to surprise yourself. It does
take a little skull sweat, I'm not going to kid you, as you already
know.
However, with each image you create, you'll get better, and find ways
to implement what you have in your mind's eye. In time you'll amaze
yourself with what you're doing. It's only when you give up that you
stop getting better.
As for the python's pose, have you installed the Power Pose plugin for
Studio? With that plugin, all you need to do is grab the tip of the
tail and drag sideways back and forth, like shaking a garden hose from
side to side.

Yes I have installed the power pose plugin and it was really playup lol.
Thanks for the encouragement Ron, Ok I won't give up.

When you finish, you do have the render the image?

In 3d work, you normally work in a Preview mode, which is optimized
for fast display. Many things are only hinted at in the preview, and
there are guide lines in the image. Light sources are visible, and
objects don't cast shadows.
When the final image is rendered, all of the guide lines are not
shown, nor are the light sources. Full semi-transparency becomes
available, and shadow maps are created for each light source that can
cast shadows. The last pass of the rendering is to combine all of
that together into one image.
The more complex the scene that is being rendered, the longer it takes
to render. So far, the longest render I've ever done was about three
hours, but I know some people that say they've had 12 hour renders.
