You have a good eye for the unusual.
I hope the owner of the feathers is ok.
A friend had a Kingfisher fly into her patio door some time ago, the poor
bird didn't survive the experience.

Don't know what happened to the bird but I found a pile of feathers
in my backyard yesterday.

If you found them on the ground, the bird probably acted in a
disappearing act with a cat! Only the reappearing won't happen. :(
