In my scrapping class, we've been talking a little about paisley. One of
my students pointed me to a KPT tutorial for making paisleys and asked
if the same thing could be done with PSP alone. Below are a few
examples. The results are far from what I'd like for a paisley, but not
altogether shabby. ;)

I'm working on a couple scripts for this, but there's an inefficiency in
one of them that I want to get rid of before I make the scripts available.

The basic idea for this is to start with a colorful (preferably square)
image and then zap it with the following:

* Kaleidoscope, default settings
* (optional) Offset with Center and Wrap
* Kaleidoscope, default settings
* Offset with the center of the image moved to down and to the right
* Twirl

Below is the original I used for the samples.

That's brilliant Lori, who'd have thought one image could be so manipulated.

Thanks very much, Jo=EBlle. For the first example shown, I ran through th=
e=20
sequence twice. I can't remember exactly what I did with the others, but=20
in at least one case the optional step was skipped and in at least one=20
case the optional step was included.

There are other variations to try, too, such as using Balls and Bubbles=20
or Polar Coordinates in addition to or in place of one or more of the=20
Kaleidoscope steps.

My two paisley scripts are now available here:

http://loriweb.pair.com/goodies/ljd_Paisley_scr.zip

They should work with any version of PSP from 8.1 on. Place the scripts in
Scripts - Restricted, open or create a colorful image for the basis of your
paisley (square works best), then fire away. :)

These are great, Lori. I wouldn't ever have thought of trying
this. Thanks for the script!

Fantastic Lori. These are far better results than I got when I followed that
tutorial. Itching to try out the script...Pat

At Jeanne's suggestion, I've add versions of the scripts that center the
main pattern element in the tile. Those versions are now included in the
updated zip file:

Glad you folks like this. :)
