That is excellent. I have Xara Xtreme but haven't done anything
that neat. :)

Thanks Barb, I think Xara Xtreme is brilliant, I do and re-do the tutorials
until something sticks!
It's finding time without interruptions.. I am sure you know the feeling

As normal as it ever was... ;-)) It took them 8 weeks to do the
house, and took us about 5 or so weeks for us to finish it up but
it's finally done. We moved our furniture back in last week.
It's so nice to have a couch again. I missed her ;-)

I've looked at Xara a few times and been tempted to try it but
I've been holding off. I'm thinking that I already have enough
programs that I don't know how to use <g>.

I'm delighted I could help out, Joëlle!

Congrats on your first from scratch creation in Xara. I could tell it was a
tulip right away. It is nice how you blended a solid at the tips of the
pedals with the red/yellow gradients at the bottom. That makes the tulip
more interesting. The two leaves at the bottom need a little work like maybe
some more shading to show extra depth than what you have already, and a few
very thin vector lines drawn to give the leaves a textured look, but their
shape is quite good. The stem is very well shaped and colored to give it the
perception of being 3d rather than a flat 3d. Well done!

I hope you keep practicing because you seem to be enjoying yourself, and
having success while you are at it. :-)

Take care,
Linda

Thanks Linda. I agree with the leaves, they need a lot more work.
I was so excited that I managed to make something recognisable, that I
forgot about the leaves..

OT: re the TV program you were trying to identify. I have been asking
everyone I could think of, but came up with a blank. So this was very likely
a sitcom shown on Sky TV (a paid for service I don't subscribe to). I did
try, quite hard too :-))

I won't say the leaves need 'a lot' more work, just a little. :-) Your
flower definitely was recognizable!

I left you a message that we had found the show, along with a link to a site
that has fairly detailed information about every British sitcom ever
produced. I would have to Reset this c.psp_G group again to be able to
copy/paste that reply, but you may still have it unread on your end if you
want to get the link from it. The show is called 'Shane' and we watched
Episode #3. A second season is in production the site mentioned, yeah!

Take care,
Linda
